A set of four very scarce leaflets issued by the Conservative Party urging voters to re-elect Winston Churchill and the Conservative Party in the 1945 General Election. They are as follows: 1) a single-page leaflet with a photograph of Churchill and the heading 'Help Him Finish the Job', followed by 'We've beaten the Hun, but there's more to be done - we must defeat Japan, we must put Britain back on her feet again . . . these are tasks calling for sane and experienced statesmanship . . . Vote Conservative, support Mr Churchill and national government'. (The election took place in July 1945; Germany had surrendered but the war in the Far East against Japan was to continue until August). There is a little foxing, mostly on the back, and a crease to one corner. 2) A single-page leaflet, printed on both sides, with the heading: 'Why we must have EXPORTS and how to get them'. 3) 'War on Want', a four-page leaflet outlining how 'Mr Churchill's National Government is pledged to carry out the full National Insurance plan' and listing the principal benefits of the scheme ('for the young, for the old, for mothers, for all'). 4) 'A Chance for All Children', a four-page leaflet outlining 'an Act which remodels our system of education . . . which a Conservative Minister has passed through Parliament. The 'main plan' includes '(from two to five years) more nursery schools in the larger cities . . . (from eleven to 15 years) a full range of secondary education with a well-planned curriculum to the aptitude of the boys and girls and the wishes of the parents, in Grammar, Modern and Technical schools. The school leaving age to be raised to 15 at the earliest opportunity . . .'. This has a little foxing to one corner.
