This is the Motion in Support of Petition for Certiorari in the case of Elizabeth Gurley Flynn et al v. the United States. (No. 442, October Term 1954). Flynn was an American labour leader and feminist who played a leading role in the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). She was also a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union and chairperson of the American Communist Party. She was arrested and accused, with others, of violating the Smith Act by advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government by force and violence.
